High intensity is what leads to substantial gains in fitness, which are RESULTS! Intensity is measured through one’s power output, which is calculated by work divided by time. Functional movements have the capacity to perform work by moving large loads over long distances. And, the more work one completes in less time, the more power is produced. Therefore, the greater one’s power output is, the more intense his or her effort is.
